Cobalt’s Future in the EU – Next Steps of the Occupational Exposure Limit Process

Recording

Webinar 21st of November 15.00 CET

Cobalt is key on the agenda for the European Union – it is essential for Europe’s political ambitions on strategic autonomy, on green growth, on sustainability and circularity, and security.

Simultaneously, European workers must be protected from risks arising when working with cobalt. The European Commission is therefore establishing workplace values for cobalt and inorganic cobalt compounds (so-called “Occupational Exposure Limit” or OEL values).

Recently a socio-economic opinion was released by the Advisory Committee for Safety and Health at Work (ACSH) meaning the cobalt OEL process has now entered the political stage with the Commission drafting the legislative proposal. The values currently recommended could have far-reaching or even existential impacts on businesses and the European cobalt industry.

Join the Cobalt Institute’s Webinar to understand the conclusion of the ACSH, what this means for the different cobalt sectors and how industry can have a voice in the final decision.
