Battery-powered future: How can the EU ensure electric vehicles drive the green transport revolution?

The Cobalt Institute was delighted to take part in an online webinar on ‘Battery-powered future: How can the EU ensure electric vehicles drive the green transport revolution?’, organized by a leading Brussels-based media outlet EurActiv.

The Cobalt Institute President Adam McCarthy, along with high-level speakers from the European Commission, the European Parliament, NGOs and academia, discussed the EU’s Battery Regulation and how to make e-transport a reality for everyone.

The panelists agreed that the Batteries Regulation is a game changer for the EU’s strategic autonomy, and the new battery’s framework should enable Europe to be competitive on the global stage.

The Cobalt Institute argued that making the rules fit for purpose is key to ensuring the Regulation can keep pace with technological changes and new battery chemistries on the market.
