Science and Regulation

Over the past several decades, Cobalt Institute and the Cobalt REACH Consortium (now EU REACH Group) generated a substantial body of scientific knowledge on cobalt and cobalt substances. This has led to an increased understanding of the scientific and technical properties of cobalt. This data generation is still on-going as we continue to address both data and knowledge gaps within the current scientific landscape.

The Science and Regulatory Affairs Department of Cobalt Institute is committed to:

Developing and applying robust scientific and technical evidence to inform international regulatory decisions

Supporting compliance with global chemical legislation

Promoting and advocating for sound, proportionate chemicals management

Serving as the global knowledge hub for all matters related to cobalt
