Alexander Popper

Alec joined the Cobalt Institute in August 2024 as a Responsible Sourcing and Sustainability Officer. In his position, he manages the Cobalt Learning Group, CI’s platform to build capacity for members on issues relating to human rights and sustainability, as well as supporting other related workstreams.

Alec's background is rooted in business and human rights. He holds a master's degree in the Theory and Practice of Human Rights from the Human Rights Centre at the University of Essex, and has spent time working for the Institute for Human Rights and Business, the Danish Institute for Human Rights, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and as a consultant for the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights.
