CI appoints Simon Cook as VP of Global Regulations

The Cobalt Institute (CI) is delighted to welcome Dr Simon Cook as the new Vice President of Global Regulations. He will be responsible for the global regulatory and science functions of the Institute, with a view to becoming more proactive, providing a stronger strategic focus, and continuing to advance the Institute’s leading role in the development of cobalt science.

He has extensive experience in materials science, R&D, innovation, marketing, market development, product stewardship, general management, and leadership.

His previous experience includes 5 years with a large materials supply company in technical roles, and 20 years working for a large, global multi-national mining company in technical, commercial and leadership roles.The last 3 years were in product stewardship, where he lead the global team responsible for securing and maintaining market access for the company’s most heavily regulated product line.This included working closely with the relevant industry associations (producers, downstream users), regulators, and other stakeholders.

The Cobalt Institute (CI) is a non-profit trade association composed of producers, users, recyclers, and traders of cobalt; it promotes the sustainable and responsible production and use of cobalt in all its forms.
