Industry Initiatives

The Cobalt Institute works collaboratively with industry partners and wider stakeholders on key sustainability issues being collectively addressed by the metals industry.

These include:

Critical Raw Materials Alliance (CRM Alliance)

The CRM Alliance has been created by industry to advocate the importance of critical raw materials (CRM) for the European economy and to promote a strong European CRM policy. It is the representative body of primary producers, traders and associations of CRMs.

Global Battery Alliance (GBA)

The GBA is a multi-stakeholder partnership that brings together more than 80 organizations including government bodies, industries and NGOs to help shape a circular, responsible and sustainable battery value chain.

Eurometaux

Eurometaux, the European non-ferrous metals association, is composed of a wide network of companies producing, transforming and recycling non-ferrous metals in Europe. Our members also include national federations, and European and International commodity associations.

European Raw Materials Alliance (ERMA)

ERMA aims to make Europe economically more resilient by diversifying its supply chains, creating jobs, attracting investments to the raw materials value chain, fostering innovation, training young talents and contributing to the best enabling framework for raw materials and the Circular Economy worldwide.

International Council on Mining and Metals

The International Council on Mining and Metals (ICMM) is an international organisation dedicated to a safe, fair and sustainable mining and metals industry. Bringing together 28 mining and metals company members and over 35 national, regional and commodities association members, we strengthen environmental and social performance and serve as a catalyst for change, enhancing mining’s contribution to society.
