Susannah leads the Cobalt Institute’s strategy and programmes on Responsible Sourcing and Sustainability. With over 20 years of experience spanning in-house roles and advisory positions, she has worked across multiple sectors and markets—including extensive work in the extractives and minerals sectors.
Susannah holds several high-profile positions, serving as Vice Chair of the Board of the Global Battery Alliance and as a member of the Drive+ Advisory Board, the DRC-Africa Battery Metals Forum Advisory Board, and the Women in Mining UK (WIM UK) Policy Committee. She also represents the Cobalt Institute across a range of influential international platforms, including the OECD Multi-Stakeholder Steering Group, the Voluntary Principles Initiative, the International Council on Mining and Metals (ICMM), and Eurometaux.
Prior to joining the Cobalt Institute, Susannah held key roles at Shift and the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA), where she developed deep expertise in the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and the OECD Due Diligence Guidance on Responsible Supply Chains. Earlier in her career, she spent a decade with a global engineering contractor, ultimately serving as Head of Social Sustainability.
She has also contributed to a range of global initiatives, previously serving on the Advisory Group of the UN Global Compact Network UK, the Board of the United Nations Association of the UK, and as Vice Chair of Building Responsibly.
Susannah holds a Master’s degree in Environment and Business from the University of Leeds, and a Bachelor’s degree in Management and Accountancy from the University of Malta.
